Define the length of your research project. I suggest at least a five-hour project. This size project provides your with a brief look into your families. Most of my clients begin with a ten-hour project.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES Do you want to trace one line back to the "old county"? Do you want to learn about all lines? Only paternal lines? Maternal lines?

Be specific as possible about your objectives. All research is fully documented. There are no guarantees in genealogy. Each family is unique and some locations have better records than others.

FEES 

$30.00 per hour research time, plus expenses (microfilm and book rentals, photocopies, certificate fees and postage).

This fee covers: research and correspondence, computer data entry and report writing. Travel expenses (airfare, hotels, etc. are included in this basic hourly fee.

For example, when I research at the Family History Library (Salt Lake City, Utah) the fee would be $30 per hour of research time, plus photocopy and postage costs. Microfilm and microfiche copies are 23 cents and Xerox copies are 5 cents.
